some story
The cruel summer sun was mercilessly baking the desert, sun of a bitch one would think, but this thought was unthinkable for Irfan. Due to a variety of reasons though, first irfan did'nt think much, had he been anything remote to an objective analytical person he would'nt have left home in the first place. Secondly the phrase son of a bitch does not exist in Arabic not even a close substitute, its much too mild at least as far as the Author's limited knowledge goes, the author however doesnt claim to be an expert on arabic profanities and it is hoped that even if such a phrase exists the author would be spared it's use. Lastly and most importantly was the belief that the Sun was a God. Hardly surprising if one considers the fact that irfan came from a rather primitively backward tribe of nomads. What is more interesting is the evolved nature of this belief system. The tribe believed in there being a new sun every day. It was believed that this Sun which is a strange creature grows every morning and dies every night. So each day a new sun shines. The tribe respected this aspect and wanted to know more about it. The interesting question which arose one fine day in the tribe meeting was if the sun dies everyday then where is it buried. If the graveyard of all the suns could be found out it would nice and they could go and offer there respects and whatever paraphernelia that one can imagine. If the reader is wondering why Irfan left the tribe the question has just been answered. Quite dissapointingly Irfan was not leaving home in search of some lost sweet heart in the sands of the desert but was on a search for the sun's graveyard. Now bad as this sounds it could have been worse imagine if the tribe has started wondering where the sun's parents were, for all we know Irfan would have become the first man on the Sun. However such crazy things have no place in this story which clearly keeps itself away from fanciful imaginations.
It had been 15 days of hot sun and sand for Irfan and because he was not an American he did not enjoy it very much. And then one fine day his misery ended when he met the guy from back home who had been sent to look out for him. It seemed the graveyard had been been found. And the graveyard was the nearby oasis, guessable just that you didnt guess it! They also chose a nearby oasis which was convenient enough for them to visit every morning. Crazy buggers only if they had thought this fifteen days back, yuo would'nt have to read this story. Guess the sun does make you go silly!
